Excel Development

VBA macros are powerful procedures that automate manual work in Excel.

Microsoft Office software contains a powerful programming language – referred to as VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and this can be used to develop automated ‘procedures’ that run within the application.
These are referred to as macros.

For example – in Microsoft Excel a macro can be written to import data from an external data system such as SAP, automatically reformat that data, and then create pre-defined reports – all with the simple click of a few buttons on the worksheet.

These macros reduce hours of manual work into an automated and accurate procedure.

How long does it take to write a macro?
That all depends on the complexity of the task and what information and design is available.
Please contact us with your outline requirements and we can give you an estimate for the amount of time required.
Most of the macros we write take just a few days to be completed, and it is important to note that all of the constructed code becomes the sole property of the customer – it will not be sold or copied to anyone else.

What about post-development support?
Customer support is important to us, so all of our VBA macros come with a free bug-fixing service for completed and signed-off projects – for as long as the customer remains a customer.
On the rare occasion of a macro failing – you simply e-mail us the details with the files and it will be fixed – usually overnight.
And yes – this service is completely free, provided our original code has not been accessed or altered in any way.

What if I want to write my own macros?
No problem – we can train you to do so if you wish.
Learning to write quality macros does require a significant investment – it is like learning to speak a foreign language – not only do the components of the language need to be learned, but also the ‘grammar’ of VBA construction. Here is a link to the typically contents of an ‘essentials’ course
